Vía Láctea is a Puerto Rico–born dessert company now rooted in New Haven, crafting inventive frozen treats and pastries that blend culinary technique with a sense of place. Co-led by Reinaldo Sánchez and Lorivie Alicea, the business combines fine-dining dessert expertise and a commitment to thoughtful sourcing, creating flavors that reflect both local Connecticut ingredients and the cultural influences that shaped its origins. Since expanding to New Haven, Vía Láctea has focused on building community through food by collaborating with local producers, participating in neighborhood initiatives, and contributing to a vibrant, diverse small-business ecosystem.
