Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Connecticut Restaurant & Hospitality Association (CRHA)
The Connecticut Restaurant Association (CRA) has announced its expansion into broader hospitality, and is now the Connecticut Restaurant & Hospitality Association (CRHA). This major strategic evolution builds on years of record growth and successful efforts to shape Connecticut’s hospitality landscape, including strengthening the association’s ability to serve members and amplify the industry’s voice at the State Capitol on issues critical to the state’s economic future.
Members can expect the same strong support and benefits they’ve come to rely on, with even greater resources and advocacy as we expand into broader hospitality.
Association Restructuring & Rebrand
Why is the Connecticut Restaurant Association expanding into hotels and broader hospitality?
The hospitality industry already functions as one interconnected economic ecosystem and a vital backbone of Connecticut’s economy. Expanding to include hotels and accommodations is a natural evolution that places both restaurateurs and hotel operators at the center of our mission while strengthening resources, support, and advocacy for all members.
Is this a typical next step for a restaurant trade association?
Yes. Thirty-two other state restaurant associations already represent broader hospitality sectors, moving us into alignment with a successful national trend and ensuring Connecticut isn’t left behind in how we advocate for hospitality at the regional and federal levels.
Why make this move now?
Rising costs, workforce challenges, and legislative pressures demand a stronger, more cohesive voice for Connecticut’s hospitality industry. Now is the time to come together and ensure our entire industry is well represented in these important conversations.
When will the new CRHA brand launch?
We are currently in the planning stage, which includes gathering input from members and other stakeholders. The official brand launch will take place later this year.
Why is the CRA logo still being used, and why is the website still restaurant.org?
We are in the process of completing our full rebrand, which will take a few months. Until then, existing assets like our logo and website domain will remain in use. Once the rebrand is finalized, all materials will be updated to reflect the CRHA brand.
Advocacy & Representation
What does this mean for advocacy and representation at the state Capitol?
Our advocacy reach and impact will expand. With both restaurants and hotels at the center of our mission, we strengthen our influence while continuing to represent each sector’s distinct priorities.
Will restaurants continue to have strong support and representation?
Yes. Restaurants will continue to receive the strong support and representation they’ve come to expect from CRA. Expanding into broader hospitality strengthens resources, advocacy, and influence for all members, creating a unified voice that benefits both restaurants and hotels.
