Associate Prep Cook - Small State Provisions
Small State Provisions is an award winning artisan bakery and cafe with locations in Avon and West Hartford, known for naturally leavened breads, high quality ingredients, and a strong hospitality culture. We are hiring a Full Time Prepared Foods Associate for our Avon location to support our growing breakfast and lunch program.
This role includes:
- Daily food prep
- Preparing menu items to order
- Following prep lists and recipes
- Portioning and labeling ingredients
- Maintaining a clean and organized workstation
- Supporting the kitchen and bakery team as needed
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety is essential.
Ideal candidates have previous kitchen or line experience in a fast paced environment, work well both independently and as part of a team, communicate clearly, and take pride in quality and consistency.
Weekend availability is required.
We offer competitive hourly pay based on experience plus tips, staff meals, free coffee, healthcare reimbursement, and a supportive team environment.
Our bakery closes at 2pm and most shifts end by 3pm, offering excellent work life balance and minimal nights.
This role requires standing for long periods and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Full time position, 5 shifts per week.
Pay: $19-$22/hour plus tips.
