Kerr County Floods: How You Can Support

Association Updates, Foundation,

The devastating floods continue to impact families, communities and businesses across Central Texas. Our thoughts are with those facing unimaginable loss right now.

Our friends at Texas Restaurant Association are responding quickly to support business owners in the area via Restaurants Respond.

During this time, we know that many people are looking for ways to support and donate. We are encouraging people to make a 100% tax-deductible donation to Mercy Chefs—a 501(c)(3) who are already on the ground providing hot meals to first responders and impacted families in Kerrville.

The National Restaurant Association Always Ready: Natural Disasters guide gleans the best practices from official sources and restaurant operators - including human resources and risk managers from independent restaurants and national brands - to share recommendations for what to do in advance, during and after a natural disaster.

The resource covers the steps to recover after the disaster, including support on restaurant clean up and reopening your business.

Connecticut Hospitality Educational Foundation: Resources & Support

The Connecticut Hospitality Educational Foundation (CHEF) and the Connecticut Restaurant Association (CRA) recognize emergencies can happen anytime that affect both owners and employees.

CHEF has a variety of resources for hospitality employees, including information about mental health resources, training and employment. Disaster such as the Texas floods and the California wildfires have heightened our awareness as we prepare to relaunch our updated CT Hospitality Employee Relief Fund.
