The Connecticut Hospitality Educational Foundation (CHEF) is the non-profit 501(c)3, philanthropic arm of the Connecticut Restaurant Association (CRA). Its mission is to promote the health and prosperity of Connecticut’s hospitality industry through education, scholarships and financial assistance. CHEF works to attract, develop and retain a career-oriented professional workforce for the restaurant industry through education for future restaurant industry professionals, workforce development opportunities and scholarships.

The CT Hospitality Educational Foundation and Connecticut Restaurant Association are proud to support the first place teams in culinary and restaurant management from the CT ProStart Invitational as they represent our state at the National ProStart Invitational. The first place teams at the CT ProStart Invitational will travel to Washington DC May 2 to 4 to take on culinary and management teams from across the country.
Culinary students create their own unique 3-course meal that they will prepare with no running water or electricity and only 2 butane burners. Restaurant Management students create their own restaurant concept, with everything from menu items, marketing tactics, SWOT analysis, organizational charts and more. Nine students from Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven will make the trip to DC, but we need your support to make this happen. Become a CT National Team Sponsor Today!
