CRA ACTION ALERT: Credit Card Swipe Fees

Take Action Now: Email Your Senator
We need your help:
The U.S. Senate is taking a key vote to address credit card swipe fee reform.
On Tuesday, January 27, the Senate Agriculture Committee is likely to vote on the bipartisan Marshall-Durbin amendment, which is similar to the Credit Card Competition Act (CCCA).
Why it matters:
Swipe fees remain one of the highest costs of running a restaurant. Competition in the credit card market would give operators a choice and help lower fees, so they can reinvest in their teams, grow their businesses, and pass savings on to customers.
This amendment would require at least two competing networks on credit cards issued by the largest banks, injecting real competition into a market dominated by two companies. This change could save both merchants and consumers over $17 billion annually.
Your voice matters. This is an important vote - one of the first held in an effort to lower credit card swipe fees.
Take one minute to email your Senator to vote YES on the Durbin-Marshall amendment.
