Legislative leaders and Governor Lamont discussed extending his emergency authority until February 9, 2021, which does not require approval of the full General Assembly. The emergency declaration has been in place since March of this year, approving a six-month declaration.
Since March, when the governor’s executive powers began, the Governor has issued nearly 90 separate orders, many of which contain multiple sections. The executive orders contain rules on social distancing and how businesses such as restaurants and entertainment venues may operate while the pandemic still affects everyday life.
